Japan NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD. Komaki Plant
Around the Komaki City General playground, we carried out an extermination activity of Lance-leaf tickseed with Komaki City Hall, NPO Komaki City Natural Environment Observer, and two neighboring companies.
Lance-leaf tickseed is native to North America and blooms bright yellow flowers from May to July. It used to be used for greening the slopes of roads, but now it is designated as a "specific alien organism" as a plant that may have a significant impact on the Japanese ecosystem.
This extermination activity is carried out every year at a place selected in consideration of the flowering situation and amount. It was held for the first time in 3 years since it was canceled due to the influence of COVID-19 infection in 2020 and 2021.
We were able to harvest 71 bags, a total of 240 kg of Lance-leaf tickseed in about an hour of activity.
